Flare...

Between the weather change and stress; I’ve got myself a flare.  For those that don’t know; I’m auto immune, which one(s) you might ask? So far not sure; blood work has been negative on all four of the types of Lupus, I don’t have MS or RA so that’s good news.  I do have “at least Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome “ as per the Joint Doc.  My joints pop in and out at will, and thankfully the Chiropractor taught my husbandhow to put everything back but my hips.

Off to bed with ice packs if I can find them.

Meal Prep Sandwich Style

For quick and easy lunches and sometimes dinner when ya just don’t feel like doing something huge...we do this instead.

Because I can get a little (cough) heavy handed on the serving size I use a scale.

Into the plastic baggie it goes.

And back into the container to store in the refrigerator.

First SNOW!!! 31 October 2014

SNOW!!! YAY!!

Okay, so it's really just a dusting at best...but YAY!!

There are two kinds of reactions in our house to snow...but I think it's easier to sum it up with a picture....

Yep...that about sums it up...so of course I had to take a couple more pictures of it..I mean really...what did you expect from me?

So then, we come in and have some hot cocoa and hot apple cider...because what else would you have on the night of the first snow??

I'll leave you with one of my favorite pictures of tonight....

Be blessed in all you do my friends.

As found in my Mother's cookbook that had been passed down from the early 1970's (at least)

Hot Buttered Rum

½ lb butter (soften)

½ lb powdered sugar

½ lb brown sugar

½ tsp. Cinnamon

½ tsp. Nutmeg

Cream above ingredients, beat in 1 pint softened vanilla ice cream. Makes 1 quart. Store in refrigerator or freezer. Use 1 tbsp. of batter, 1 oz rum, and boiling water in a mug.

Perfect for a party or an evening at home.
